Free UK delivery on the date you choose. British grown, cut to order. Buy the tree on its own, or let us install and decorate it if you would rather not.
An 11ft Christmas tree is a big tree, and it is a spectacular one. It suits a room with real height: a Georgian hall, a barn conversion, a double-height living room, a church, a hotel foyer or a shop floor.
What you need
A ceiling of at least 12ft. Measure the exact spot, take a foot off for the stand and the topper, and be honest about the answer.
About 7ft 3in of floor width at the base. That is a large footprint and it needs to be clear on all sides.
Two or three people to handle it. An 11ft tree is heavy, and once it starts to go over it is not going to be caught.
A heavy-duty stand with ballast. The trunk will be six inches or more across, and a domestic stand will not take it. That is a safety point, not an upsell.
Which 11ft tree?
11ft Nordmann Fir
The one most people take at this height.
Its branches grow in strong, well-spaced tiers, which stops a tree this size reading as a solid green wall and lets it carry heavy decorations without sagging.
Its needles are waxy and hold moisture, so a watered 11ft Nordmann holds four to five weeks. On a tree this big, that matters. Taking down a dying 11ft tree in mid December is a serious job.
11ft Norway Spruce
The traditional tree, and at 11ft the pine scent fills a large space in a way nothing else will.
It drops faster than a Nordmann. In a warm room with the heating on, put it up later and be religious about the water.
Putting it up
Carry it in netted. Get it upright in the stand while someone holds it steady, then cut the netting from the bottom up, in the room where it is staying.
Leave it several hours before decorating so the branches drop into place. Use a proper ladder.
Around 1,100 lights, on the rule of 100 per foot. Under-lighting a tree this size is the most expensive mistake you can make with it. Work the lights from the trunk outwards, not wrapped round the outside, so the tree has depth.
If you would rather not do it yourself
We can deliver, install with the right stand and ballast, decorate it in whatever scheme you want, and then take it away and recycle it in January.
That is our installation service. It starts from around £500 and scales with the job. Plenty of people at this size do it themselves, so it is entirely optional.
Care
Saw an inch off the trunk before it goes in the stand. Sap seals the cut end within hours of harvest, and without a fresh cut the tree cannot take up water at all.
Check the water daily. A tree this size drinks hard, and once the reservoir runs dry the trunk seals over permanently.
Keep it clear of radiators and direct heat. More in our guide to keeping your tree fresh.
